Introduction

Biography - About Me

Hello, I’m Danni, and thank you for being here.

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). Occupational therapy is about helping people live fulfilling, meaningful lives by enabling them to do the things they want and need to do—at home, at work, and in everyday life.

I specialise in supporting people who feel lost, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about their direction in life. Together, we explore routines, habits, and environments that align with the person you want to be, helping you build a life that feels purposeful, balanced, and authentic.

My passion for this work comes not only from my professional training but also from my own life experiences. Like many people, I have navigated periods of significant change that left me feeling stressed, unhappy, and unsure of my identity. These experiences included the breakdown of important relationships, major life transitions, watching others move forward while feeling stuck myself, and adapting to environments that brought multiple challenges and stressors.

In 2008, I joined the Armed Forces and served for eight years as a Combat Medic. During that time, I travelled extensively, taught others, and worked with a wide variety of people and communities. Joining the military as a shy young woman with limited self-confidence was a significant challenge, and developing my confidence became an important part of my journey. Leaving the military brought its own adjustment. I went from a highly structured environment, surrounded by people and purpose, to a life that felt much quieter and less defined. It was during this transition that I began a deeper journey of self-discovery and learned the importance of finding meaning beyond a role or title.

In 2022, I became a mam, and once again life changed dramatically. My priorities shifted, my daily routine transformed, and the person I once knew seemed to disappear beneath the demands of motherhood. During this period, I had to navigate the challenges of caring for others while reconnecting with myself. It was through meaningful activities and occupations that I found grounding, calm, and a renewed sense of identity. I understand what it feels like to lose your sense of self, and I appreciate how challenging it can be to reconnect with who you are—or to embrace who you are becoming.

Following the completion of my Occupational Therapy degree, I worked with prisoners and vulnerable individuals in the community, supporting them to achieve goals that improved their wellbeing and quality of life. Through both my professional experience and personal journey, I have developed the skills, insight, and compassion needed to help others create meaningful and lasting change.

I am experienced in helping people recognise their strengths, establish supportive routines, identify barriers to wellbeing, and develop practical strategies to move forward. I take a holistic, person-centred approach, recognising that every individual's circumstances, challenges, and goals are unique.

I am passionate about empowering people to live a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. I believe that life is about living fully—engaging in the activities, relationships, and experiences that bring purpose and satisfaction.

When you feel lost or uncertain, it can be difficult to see a way forward. Through occupational therapy assessments and collaborative support, I can help you gain a clearer understanding of the bigger picture, identify what is helping or hindering your wellbeing, and create realistic, achievable goals that support positive change and a happier, more balanced life.

Why Choose OT?

Why Choose Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is an evidence-based profession that uses scientific theory, research, and practical interventions to support health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

At its core, Occupational Therapy is based on the understanding that people are occupational beings. This means that engaging in meaningful activities—or occupations—is essential to our sense of identity, confidence, purpose, and overall wellbeing. Occupations include everything we do in our daily lives, from work and parenting to hobbies, self-care, socialising, and community involvement.

When life changes, stress, illness, loss, or other challenges occur, it can become difficult to participate in the activities that matter most to us. These barriers are not always obvious and can often feel overwhelming to navigate alone.

An Occupational Therapist works with you to identify the factors that may be preventing you from living the life you want. By recognising your strengths, exploring what is meaningful to you, and understanding the challenges you face, we can develop practical strategies and sustainable routines that support positive health and wellbeing.

Occupational Therapy is focused on action and meaningful change. Rather than simply talking about difficulties, we work together to create achievable goals and practical steps that help you build a life that feels balanced, purposeful, and fulfilling.
